OT: Has anyone seen Gem?

I haven't noticed any posts from her the last two days which isn't like her. Maybe she posted that she was going away and I missed it? Has anyone heard from her? I'm starting to get worried...

Hi Laura,

No, I haven't seen any from her either. The last I think she wrote that she wasn't feel well, lets hope it's her computer and not her.

Hugs,

Nora

Hey, you're right! I had an e-mail from her the other day, and there were things happening, but I would have thought that she would be here. Maybe someone else has more recent news.

no, some of the US gulf coast is offline but the rest of the country is ok. Gem is in eastern Canada & i haven't heard that they are having power outages... if they were, i'd expect much of the northeast US would have problems too, because that's where much of our power comes from. lee

Aww, I am so sorry to worry you, Laura. I just haven't been feeling the best over the last few nights, and when I had energy during the day I busied myself with catching up on a few things around here. I just couldn't find even two minutes when I was feeling okay to get on the computer and post anything to let anyone know what was going on.

I am on my own today though (Matthew went to the city to celebrate his best friend's birthday, and will be staying overnight), so I have the time (and so far the energy) to be online a bit and catch up on reading and posting to my friends here on rcty. :o) I promise to do my best to post in future when I think I might be offline for more than one day. I didn't mean to worry you.

*hugs* Gem

Actually, your mention of power cuts just reminded me.... Although we didn't actually lose any electricity, I just found a message from xcelco (Matthew rarely reads that email unless there is something there from one of his friends) that they were having some sort of problem that they had to fix on Thursday. Matthew was online last night, playing a game with his best friend while chatting with a few of his friends on yahoo messenger and I heard him complaining a few times about the internet disconnecting.... we thought it might have been some program he was running, because I told him that I never have that problem with it disconnecting while I'm reading my newsgroups or email, or even when I'm searching for anything.

But no, I just wasn't feeling up to par over the last few nights... and during the day when I did have energy I/we were trying to catch up on a few things around the house. After doing that, I would force myself into going into the pool (I know, that sounds odd) so that my muscles could relax a bit for the evening, then come in and have supper and lay on the sofa watching mindless TV until bedtime.

Peace! Gemini

I'm sorry you were feeling poorly and no need to apologize about worrying me - that is just my nature!

I'm glad you have some of your energy back now and hope the upward trend continues!

I'm kind of getting used to the ups and downs of the Fibromyalgia. I don't like it, but am getting used to it more.... at least now (since being diagnosed last year) I know what's going on and what it's called, and that it isn't just me saying I feel pains that the doctors can't figure out (so therefore you come off looking like a hypochondriac). Hey, that's my sister, not me!!! LOL

And as for worrying being your nature... I know the feeling, I'm the same. But you don't need to worry about me sweetie... I'm a tough lady who has dealt with a lot of stuff, so this isn't going to keep me down. Well, not for long anyway! I am part Newfie (right Katherine?) and my Mom used to tell me that NFLD stood for "Never Found Lying Down!" LOL She also used to say that Newfies (Newfoundlanders) are too stubborn to stay down. ;o)

Thank you Laura! I hope you're feeling well too! Funny.. when I was pregnant I felt healthy as a horse, except when I had the morning sickness. I *loved* being pregnant... likely a good thing that my marriage ended, or I likely would have had a LARGE family! ;o)

Peace! Gem

For those of you who may be interested, two weeks ago the Globe and Mail carried an article about ticks, and the serious illnesses you can pick up when bitten by ticks. Apparently Lyme decease is often miss-diagnosed as Fibromayalgia. The last is very difficult to pin down. Lyme decease can be diagnosed by a simple blood test. However because so few doctors are familiar with Lyme decease, they often will throw it in with the Fibromayalgia. The writer of this very lengthy article, was indeed bitten by a tick. It took a long time to get to the bottom of it all. She was very ill, and no matter what was tried nothing helped. She had a blood test done in the States, and once it was know that it was Lyme decease, antibyotics cleared it all up. It may be worth a blood test when you have been told that you have Fibromayalgia, just to be sure.

Thank you, Els! I had heard about that too. When I was first diagnosed with Fibromyalgia I did a lot of research on it, to get to know it better and know what to deal with. I found a lot of stuff on the Internet, and borrowed a lot of books from the libraries in my town and the nearby city for a few months to read them all. Lyme decease is mentioned as a possibility in most of them. I have a lot of information about Fibromyalgia, but I appreciate getting whatever other information you or anyone else has on it... it shows that there is a lot more understanding and knowledge about it now than there has been in the past, and hopefully that will help other people diagnosed with it in the future. :o)
