OT - Okay, who is the wise guy who sent me the snow?!?!?

When I went to bed last night it had stopped raining, but was still very wet on the ground. I got up to use the washroom at 6 after having only about 1

1/2 hours sleep (back to the insomnia bit again. *sigh*) and laying awake from about 2 AM onward, and everything was covered in snow. I went back to bed to try to get at least a couple of hours sleep, but it wasn't happening, so I've been up and dressed since 7:30 and the dogs were out for a few minutes too... getting "Fluffer Pupped" when they came back in. ;o)

Looking at the fence outside the window by the computer, I can see about

2 -3 inches of snow on the top of it. One of the buses just came in at the school, so the roads must be okay as that school cancels buses at the *slightest* bit of bad roads.

Some goof just drove quickly in the parking lot next to this window and the back end of his truck was sliding forward to meet the front end. *tsk* Some people just don't think to drive slower and more cautiously in snow... good thing there aren't many cars in the parking lot at the moment. Guess we'll just have to leave earlier to get Matthew to work on time and safely.

Well on to read the rest of the messages before Matthew gets up and gets ready to go.

We didn't get much snow but the wind was howling so loudly last night that I'm suprised we still have power!

Sounds like you have the kind of insomnia that Stephen King's characters had in "Insomnia". The kind where you wake prematurely. But fear not....according to the book all you have to do is save the world and then you'll be able to sleep again!

I would if I could. Man that was heavy... and all I was doing was trying to brush it off the van windows. I thought I could just swish with the brush and it would be gone.... NOT! I was really pushing hard with the brush and it was barely moving because it was so heavy and sticky. Definitely SNOWMAN making snow... I expect to see a lot of snowmen around town after school lets out this afternoon. :o)

I just got back from the city... as usual, we got more than they did. Driving there was slow moving, but on the way back the roads are all clear now. It is still snowing *a little bit*, but I don't know how much of it will accumulate.

I have some running around to do today, so I thought I'd touch base now in case I don't make it back online until tomorrow.

Maybe it could pass through TN fast and linger here! My mom and them live in Memphis so that would be good... Chris

Hi Gemini,

No snow here yet, but freezing rain started around seven last night and ended around eight this morning. Now the wind is blowing as I can hear the neighbors garbage cans blowing around. Schools here were delayed a bit due to all the accidents on the roads, they never learn to slow down. Now it's real mild, but going to change to snowflurries a little later on.

Hugs,

Nora

OK, here goes Crochet Carol, who makes super speedy crochet waistcoats for oiled up penguins, or big scarves for cold polar bears. The Tatting Terror, who is terribly talented at tatting and whips up webs to keep all those poisonous spiders enclosed. I'll work on more later if I have any more inspiration, anybody else got any? We saw three cars in the ditch on the way out the road this morning. This is the straightest road around too... just hold the steering wheel, don't move it and drive... but Nooooo, they have to play acrobatics in the snow and little games of "I can drive as fast (or faster) than I would normally do" and end up spinning out and landing in the ditch. *tsk*

I like that one.... Crochet Carol (but I want to use the name Gemini) because she makes things for the penguins and polar bears. ;o) I told you that I have a pet polar bear! hehehe

I can not tell a lie. It was me. My fruit trees think it is spring and are about to bloom, and I did not want a cold storm that would kill the buds, so I just passed it on. All we got was a couple inches of rain, and everything looks OK.
