OT: Quick Hello

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to pop in and say I'm still around. School started for me today and I've been really busy with prep work and getting the kids into a new routine. My knitting has slowed down considerably, but I'm still making socks for Christmas presents.

I hope everyone is doing well. My very best to everyone,

Hugs,

Hesira

A trade sounds like a good idea, but I'd have to knit another branching out first!

Thanks for asking, Noreen.

I had the Radioactive Iodine about 3 weeks ago and had worse symptoms for 2 weeks, as the thyroid let go all of its hormones. I've been feeling GREAT (maybe too great) for a week or so. I'm told eventually I'll get hypOthyroid and everthing will slow down and I'll feel tired and low. They'll give me synthetic thyroid hormone to correct that. I'm thinking everything should be relatively normal around December or January.

Hugs,

Hesira

Just a quick curiousity query: did you get a goiter on your neck? My Aunt Marie (fave aunt and godmother, now deceased) DID, but my mother and sister didn't. Hugs, Noreen who has been keeping you in her heart.

I did have a goiter, but it didn't stick out very much. You know the hollow in your neck between the tendons, it's like a divot. Mine filled up so there was no indention there. It's still not completely hollowed out, but it's starting to go down. Also, there was a small protrusion next to where the dimple should be, but it's also gone.

Thanks for your concern, it has helped a lot,

Hugs,

Hesira

Hi Mirjam,

I holding! Yes, my doctor tells me once the synthetic hormones are fine tuned, I'll be feeling perfectly normal. I think he will start out low and work his way up. I start hormone therapy in October, and that is why I said I should be level by January or so. It takes a few months to find just the right dose, I guess.

Many warm hugs and wishes to you my friend. I hope you are doing well and taking lots of walks.
