Yummy

I have never acutally heard of this stone before, but LOVE the patterns inherent in it:

Much better than the name I was thinking. I'll just say it reminded me of parasites.

LOVE that one though. Good luck!

Karleen -- it looked like ruby in zoisite, but where did they get that name? Of course, this is the same seller who sells blue goldstone (which is GLASS) as "Sun Sitara" so I guess I should have known they were making up the names.

Still love that freaking green.

Hi Becki...

The beads from this ebay seller may be okay but their jewelry is very low quality...at least, what I purchased on 1/10/08 was.

I won the auction from

. They also have two other company names on ebay.

The stones in the pendant were nice but the mounting was not. I guess ya' get what ya' pay for. :( I should have known it was too good to be true. ymmv

HSN has been selling rings with Mawsitsit stones for several years. I've also seen this stuff at bead shows under the name of "Rain Forest Jasper". It looks sort of like Ruby in Zoisite (without the rubyness), but a deeper green. So, I'm not really sure what it is.

In this book it says it is a form of jade:

Anna -- I have purchased piles, and I mean absolute piles of stuff from all three sellers. You can check my feedback if you want to see the items (beckibead at the ebay site).

Several of the strands I got were the worst beads I have ever seen. Many, many of the pendants were much better than I ever imagined. I get most of them for $3 (.99 auction and 1.99 shipping) and several have been just outstanding.

What I do now is take a close, careful look at the pictures. If the beads are not uniform in size or shape, I won't like it and no matter how good the picture is, I don't buy. I won't buy any more lapis beads from them because I am convinced they are dyed (lots of beads are dyed but not all of them leave blue spots on my neck, LOL). Pendants, I will buy from them forever. I can't believe some of the deals I've received.

One must shop carefully there, but it is worth the trouble (at least to me).

Rainforest jasper was always what they called rhyolite. At least the in past. Maren -- that has always been my favorite green stone, until they came out with green garnets.

Bartje -- HSN is the home shopping network. I buy lots of my clothes there.

I actually have heard the name mawsitsit, but I'm not sure it was this stone.

But this looks like something different to me

I'm thinking that some of the stuff this guy carries is mis-identified. This is more like what I've seen before:
