Very true... Depression is anger turned inside. I know that's true, because I get very angry with myself, but I hardly ever get angry outside of me. Well other than the usual cuss words to morons on the roads and commercials on TV and on occasion my computer... I think I will end this list here. lol

I've heard that defintion a lot, but psychologists describe it as overstimulation (brain over-load) and/or a disconnection from yourself.

Glad you're back.

Oh yeah - I had a "little episode" a few years back and for some reason the butthead who was my supervisor was driving me to the desire to punch the s**t out of him. You know why I didn't? Had nothing to do with legal problems - it's because I knew that I couldn't hit him hard enough to make me feel better. I'm a weenie with no strength and I wanted to HURT him.

My other idea was to make a little voodoo doll, dress it in little cheap polyester pants and wrap an even cheaper polyester tie around it's neck, put little wirerimmed glasses on it and then drive hat pins down thru the head and in the chest. Oh, did I mention I was going to leave it sitting on top of my desk and if confronted remind them that they could not interfere with my personal religious beliefs?

I didn't do any of the things I fantasized about. Instead I took drugs, legal ones, and applied for another position in the company. I was laid off about a year later. Did it have anything to do with my behavior (I wasn't very professional during that time)? Probably but I later heard about alot of problems within the company so I wouldn't have lasted very long any way.

I look back now and I'll admit I behaved badly. Yelling at one's supervisor is NOT good practice - but he really was a d*****ad (sorry about the terminology). And he should have just backed off of me a little. I kept asking him to do that - just to give me a little breathing space instead of constantly looking over my shoulder, literally.

JL -- they taught me in Al-Anon, a long time ago, to write the person's name on a piece of paper and put it in my shoe. Then, grind down on it when I am feeling angry and know that I am stepping on that person every time I walk. Now that I think back on it, it is a cruel thing to do to another, LOL, and I think praying for them (taking the positive route) is what I would prefer to do today. But it sure helped me deal with the flaming bitch secretary at my job!

I like that idea but I was far beyond stomping on him. The sad thing was when I first started working there, he was a sweetheart. Then they started giving him new titles. Each title incread his cranial dimensions. the last straw was when they made him the drafting supervisor. He was NOT a good supervisor - all biases aside.

Nowadays, I avoid people who are dickheads. Well, I try to at least. The woman who is the store manager where I work now gives new meaning to the word Bitch but I just avoid her. I don't have to have contact with her so it's not a difficult thing to do.

I try to focus on the positive whenever possible. I have to - I don't have medical insurance and can't afford therapy or medications. :-)

Hi Sandy,

I went to your eBay auctions, and I'd like to mention some things.

First is the photography. You really need clearer picture. The prices arent high, but I still wouldn't spend the money without having a better look at the merchandise.

I notice that ther are many materials that seem other than as you listed. Many of your necklaces are listed as X, Y and sterling beaded necklaces. This makes it sound like you have sterling components, instead of just the findings.

You also list one necklace as being "Pearl, onyx,... and" when it has Mother of Pearl (MOP) instead of pearl.

I also think the "Blue Quartz" is glass, like "Cherry Quartz".

What do you mean when you title your necklace "Antique onyx, adventurine and Silver.." Is the necklace antique or did you make it? Or is the onyx antique? And the stone is "aventurine", not "adventurine". No "D".

The big beads in your Guy's .... necklace look more like black horn than like bone. If the black color penetrates the bead, it is probably not dyed bone.

Check to be sure the dyed fossil beads don't bleed color.

I could be all wrong about everything, except the photos. I'm not picking on you, just sharing and in that way trying to encourage you.

Yeah, sorry. Subtle is something I need to do a little work on. Life is too short to beat around the bush (but there is another side to this, LOL)

The site is phunkyside but the initial loading % thing says phunkside. Never have shadows on your work in pics. The grain of the stone or whatever under the work is distracting. Get closer to the pieces for pics. Use a camera with a macro setting. Take pics in indirect light not direct sunlight. Just a few hints that I have gotten from others.

Sandy,

Here is the actual title for that necklace: Guys bone, turqoise and SILVER BEADED necklace.

and here is the description:

Black Carved Dyed Bone beads dominate the piece. 4mm Green Turquoise Cube and 4mm Aquamarine beads bring vibrant colors to the necklace. 4mm Pewter beads are also represented. A Pewter Hook neatly and tightly clasps the piece.

...not a piece of silver in the necklace according to your own description.

thanks for the feedback guys.

i just wanted to make a few comments in response..

-they all have silver ..because the clasps are silver.. except the guys..that's pewter. i made a mistake in the title.

-the style of my adventurine piece is antique looking.. to me anyway.. but i did make it.. so it's not genuine antique.. but i clearer stae in my auctions i am the artist

-my site is not ready yet.. what you checked out is my attempt to put it together...it will be up saturday.

-my pictures are better than they appeared on ebay.. some didn't come out that clear but they'll be much better on my site..

-sorry if i spammed your group...but i definitely appriciate your feedback since you are fellow bead heads..

i'll stop every once in awhile so i'm not a lurker/spam jerk...but mainly to get some feedback. thanks again! sandy

Oh, you aren't spamming at all. You're participating in the group. And I hope you'll stick around, introduce yourself, share, teach, learn, play, etc...

I'm not sure I understand about the pictures on eBay vs your own site. Are you trying to sell from eBay or your site? I believe you can only sell a given piece from one place. If it's on eBay it can't be sold in another place, so that's where the good pictures should be.

I am a poor photographer, so I do NOT sell on eBay.

Many of the questions I had were because I couldn't see well from your photos.

If something is antique looking or antique style, you should put it in quotes so people don't dump on you for claiming it is something it is not. Antique has a specific meaning, which is not applicable to your necklace, so calling it antique is false advertising .

On this group "lurking" is a good way of getting information, and is not used as an insult.

And we commonly do each other the favor of giving critiques. It is a considered a positive thing. We wouldn't bother if we didn't wish you well.

Welcome,

Tina
