Designer 1 dongle replacement needed

We know why a dongle is needed. Have you asked Husqvarna/Viking for a replacement yet?

You may possibly find a hack to circumvent it's usage.

Do some searches on "husqvarna xxxx", where xxx = hacks, hackz, serialz, dongle, bypass, etc..

If you are transfering designs to your machine by floppy then why not use another program to work your designs like Embird? I do not have a viking so may be way out of line. I do know that a number of years ago a cracked version of bernina was on alt.binaries.crafts.pictures. Maybe some one posted a cracked version of your software. I have brother and bernina and do not need the company software to put designs on my machines. I write to the cards with a magic box. brother is probably from the mid 1990s and bernina is from around 2001. Good luck, s
