I am an experienced software developer with several lady friends that do a lot of machine embroidery. They are always looking to do something wierd. Most of it I could do if I had the ability to read/write the embroidery files.
Does anyone know where to find technical details about the various file formats used by the different embroidery machines. Brother's formats are the most important, I guess. I'm looking for the nitty-gritty stuff. Details to write software that can produce and translate these files. My intention is to design a generic library and to make it free software licensed for copying by the GNU LGPL. Then, various apps would use that library.
Any leads would be appreciated.
