Victorian Valentine Postcards @ BFC !

~~~~~~~~~~TIP~~~~~~~~~~~ If you are doing a large embroidery with several designs that need to be lined up, try this trick from needlepoint. If any of you have done needlepoint, you know that the canvas pulls dramatically in one direction and you have to grab opposite ends to straighten it out (or really have to block it and pull it real hard). Machine embroidery does the same thing needlepoint stitches do but in a smaller way. In between stitching each design on your fabric, iron your piece and take opposite corners and pull - iron again. Then do the other two corners and iron. This will help straighten the grain in the fabric again for your next design. Without this straightening you could come to your last design and find you are way off and wonder why. We use a small square to help me tell that the horizontal and vertical grain is square and it has really helped. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
