China Plates - Etching? Painting?

Hello there -

Is there a process by which I can take ordinary, white china soup bowls and add a permanent decoration? I'd like to put a small stencil into the bottom of each one. Thanks!

Permanent means firing, so you would be getting decals (or use a stencil) to put enamel on and then heating to something around 1100F.

Don't forget to make sure whatever you use is food safe if you intend to use them as serving vessels.

Is there a source for custom made decals that would be food-safe after firing? I'd like to put a logo of a teasel into the bottom of existing china soup bowls. Thanks.

Yep...try google. Be aware that custom made quantities for industry are a bit larger in number than you'll be having guests for dinner. In other words ... have you tried hand painting anything in your life? Well, if so, you could paint your teasels by hand and still afford the soup.

cheers, JB
