is the opal glass used in Craftsman Era lighting still available? The opal glass I see available from the stained glass suppliers seems very different.

Very Generic statement, you will have to be more specific. Indoor fixtures, outdoor? Where and in what home, "name" home, local bungalow? Give an example, and /or LINKS to photos. Some is variegated, mixed with clear or a different white, and some is straight white glass.
Lots of old fixtures both inside and outside used Kokomo glass. Just about any stained glass shop should be able get it if that's what you need.
