Big auction...Karen remember??

I managed to not save your last post, but I gather you are planning on a group bid on the 1200 floss cards.

I really hope you don't. Before you started talking of it, I posted that I was interested in this...and please don't outbid me!

I currently have a bid in, and a max bid, too. Should I be lucky enough to win, it will take quite a while to get the whole lot catalogued, sorted and in Excel.

Needless to say if anyone is ever looking for something specific, and it was there, of course I would share. You are all my friends!

Hope this makes sense.

How about we all go in on your bid? You won't have room for all that stuff in the RV, and I would be pleased to take a chunk off your hands.

I live in a house, have a big workroom, storage and lots of time; I cannot see how you would ever be able to divide it equitably anyway.

Who knows, it may go for a higher bid.

As of right now (1:48) there's 1 1/2 hours left!

I can't speak for the rest of the group (we're discussing via e-mail), but it would be acceptable to me, Gillian, to not bid if you would promise to leave the remains to us in your Will.

I know I am old, but just not on the brink of teetering over the edge LOL. However, I shall inform Jim of the fact that when I croak, he will be invaded by stitchers. Actually, it would make a damn good party, a pity I won't be there to enjoy it!

Incidentally, you said "the remains".....of me or the stash? You can have the MIL's if you like, they are in my closet.

Maybe she meant 'cremains' lolol Oh come on, we will all have a party with him and get out the glass on the table and you can talk to us. I am sure you would have done that years ago in the UK ?

Why on earth would I want your EMIL? I had two horrors of my own.

Winning bid was more than our foursome was willing to go for, but less than I would've put in for if I'd been bidding on my own.

That would complete the set of the Three Witches of Endor!!

Giggle, giggle, snort

Did you all see how much it went for?

I think it was automatic bidding, Karen. In the last 3-5 seconds it went from my bid to one over $500. It had exceeded my max, but I tried one more qick bid, but still didn't get it.

Oh well, back to sorting out my DMC and cataloguing that, I suppose. Hohum, retirement needs a thrill occasionally.

Even with the hefty shipping, it still works out to about 45 cents a card.

Any bets about whether Joyce whosiwhatsee sells it in individual lots on ebay?

Or maybe she is starting an INS;

Does a step (second wife) MIL count? If so, I'll throw in mine, but I suspect she might make the others look like wimps.

Stop bragging you lot, I can throw in a terrible FIL. Before she met him a good friend kept saying he really can't be THAT bad, so I invited them to dinner when FIL and MIL were over here. He made some remark about women knowing their place in life and my friend said across the table 'You really didn't lie, every word was the truth, in fact you were unusually kind' whereupon she and I collapsed laughing. He suspected that somehow he was the butt of the laughter but really couldn't pin anything on me lol

She probably has an LNS or maybe is the front bidder for a group such as yours.

Not to one up you BUT--I'm really a nice person and I do love company. My FIL used to come to visit as often as he could but the wicked witch never set foot in my house. She was invited when they first got married and didn't come and after a short time circumstances were so bad that she was uninvited.

We would drive to my FIL's house and meet him in front of the building because I (with my husband's blessing) refused to set foot in her house.

Just another little tid-bit of information. She was my sister-in-law's mother. To my SIL's credit, she didn't like her mother either and never thought I was wrong to feel that way.

When my MIL was alive, I used to send DH home to her without me. He was actually pretty fine with that. Now if I could just figure out how to visit my dad without his wife...

Better that the stash goes to us than to the dump. :)
