ladybug alert

I was browsing today's new designs at Hoffman's and saw one beauty and one whimsical delight, *and* discovered some ladybugs while off on a sideways track

The whimsical delight: Pink Plaid Pear

have no idea what (specifically) is so appealing about this, but I find it adorable!

It's a designer I'm not familiar with, so I looked at her other designs, and found this ladybug-themed one:

I like the ladybug bookmark and I received my bone china ladybug thimble in the mail today. Its marked DMC England. Now I have to make a thimble pod. Tokens and Trifles is suppose to have a ladybug design out next month.

Also, Charland designs has a gorgeous etui box on her website - at the other LNS, thinking about doing that as a class. Waiting on the shop owner to get info from Charland about this.

Can you tell I'm having a little thing about doing something besides another piece to frame, and I need to start doing some teaching...assuming my students can put up with me, etc.

So true. Check out the punchneedle mermaid on Carriage House Samplings page

- I immediately thought of you.

Scroll down - you'll find it!

I have the ladybug bookmark. Next purse project maybe? I'm looking forward to seeing the thimble, the fob and the freebie.

Yes - the "needle boxes" are from Charted Imagery. I desperately want most of them. LOL

She is nice - HEY DR. Brat - that one is for you! Cheryl

Is that the "Garden Needle House"? It's beautiful!

I'd seen that one! I like so many of her designs. And I still have "The Haunted Mermaid" in my "someday" stash. And Houses of Hawk's Hollow kitted up.

Isn't it stunning. I was doing a bit of in the back room chat with the LNS owner, we were MAC-ing. And she was looking at some of the charms. In the shop she stocks a bunch of silver trinkets - various charms. Charland has a bunch of stitch charms. Anyhow, as soon as I saw that box I thought - wow - it's gorgeous, and would be a perfect easing into samplers class. IIRC, there are only about 5-6 specialty stitches, which is a nice amount for people to do if they're new to "stitch diversity" . And, it's something different from a small sampler, with a lot of impact, and usable. Plus, I've been deciding about doing the Master Teacher certification or not, having done several classes for me, I have to start teaching some again, besides doing original design/class stuff.

So, we're waiting to see what she says about having that done as a class, if we can get her sample as a display for a week or two, etc - cause you know if I have to stitch it first - it'll be next spring for the class (as opposed to stitching and staying ahead of the class).

I should've known. I like so many as well, but Donna will slap my hands if she sees me buying anything more...

LOL - hmmm- does the ever-so-witty verbal slap count ?

Anyhow, I've also uncovered some gorgeous kitted up NP pieces - from when I got sick and had to cancel ANG seminar late, but got the kit... Woohoo. Maybe I'll bring that to stitch on Thursday a.m. For show 'n tell.

Just spent a couple of hours outside - the nursery guys came with my lovely new, appropriately quirky looking pine tree. And I bribed them - by speaking Spanish, bottles of water, and cash to plant the Macoun Apple tree. I was going to pay them just to dig the hole - but they were so nice, and planted it as well. The foreman remembered planting the other specimen trees in the back, and the japanese maple up front. I had to promise not to say "una palabra" (a word) to the owner or nursery manager that we're buddies with. And then, when they were done - they asked if it was okay if they sat in the truck in front of the house to eat their lunches - of course. I gave them $50, and he wanted to give me some back. But, it's very bright, sunny, hot sweaty, full of rocks work - so I said no. Amazing - I could've taken some of the cash back - but I think they work hard, and even though it was pricey, it would've taken me about 3 hours to dig that hole - at least. So, I'm all excited, went back out, feed the trees their B-1 starter and hormone, and the Master Nursery Master Start, and a bunch of water. Now, the question is - if I cool off enough - do I go stitch for a while - and clean my hands, or go sweat again???? I have other plants to get in the front bed, and prep for my soon to be here Daylily collection courtesy of Cheryl.

So, I think DH & I could've used the big hand-slap when we bought the latest pine tree. We can't resist. But, I'm hoping Donna and Ericka (who are quite local to me) can come for a stitch-in outdoors...soon.
