Metallic Thread Question

Hi, I am stitching a piece from a chart I made using 2 strands Eterna Silk Mini Twist on 32 ct. silk mesh. To show the stars in the sky, I am using DMC silver metallic thread. This is very rough and is pulling terribly on the mesh. Does anyone know if there is a non-metalic silver thread that would not pull or be so stiff? Any help appreciated greatly! :)

DMC metallics are dreadful. Try Kreinik. You can use multiple strands of BF for better coverage.

Anchor silver lame is not rough like DMC and will pull very smoothly. Ruby

Toss the DMC metallics out the window and do as others have suggested -- use Rainbow Gallery or Kreinik. The DMC junk is SOOOO horrid that Stitcher's World paid me a nice bonus for the model piece I stitched that used the crap! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Thank you everyone. I'm going to head to my LNS today because they carry most of the brands mentioned by all of you. Since the 'silver' stitches are rather scattered in this pic, it's better to pull them all out now and re-do than have them ruin the work at a later date. I can just FEEL the DMC cutting into the silk threads & mesh as I type! This will be worth the 60 mile (return) drive!

I know everyone goes on about using Kreinik metallics but I do SO enjoy working with *anything* made by Rainbow Gallery. Be sure to take a look at what is available from them. They are a wonderful company and unbelievably helpful. Their Splendor Silk is to die for (IMNSHO) and absolutely NO ONE makes anything to compare with the RG Wisper! Now, I know that Dave Kreinik is also a great person and his products are superb, I just think we need to give a little more business to Rainbow Gallery :-)! NAYY -- just a very pleased customer who has gotten some very specific help from the people at Rainbow Gallery :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<
