Wow. You should see the socks Sheena knit. They are made from one of those self-patterning wools that makes stripes and sort of fair isles as you go--blue, green and yellow stripes with bands of black and white pattern. They are beautifully made as well; the heel is perfectly shaped to fit without a bag or wrinkle, and somehow she discerned exactly the right length. They arrived just as I was heading off to the walk-in clinic to get an x-ray of my knee, as I feel off a set of front steps yesterday. Nothing broken, and being able to look down at the lovely socks was comforting as technicians found different very painful ways to move my knee around.
