I am about to embark on a kit which I like the project but not the design.
I want to match the original colours if I can (as there is a piece of silk in the finishing workshop which tones with one of the original threads). The original silk is an 8 ply silk, but I don't think I've ever seen an 8 ply silk. Any suggestions what the thread might be?

I'm sure I saw an 8 ply at Celebration this October -- I might have bought some myself! I'm used to either 6 or 12 ply and 8 ply seemed a bit strange to me also. HMMMM -- I've been working the seasonal bell pulls with the Australian silk -- I think it's Gum Nuts. I wonder if that could be what your silk is? I'll check my project (it's downstairs and I'm not) and see what ply it is. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
