I was talking to my mom last night and she told me my nephew, age 11, asked for a gift certificate to Michael's because his little buddy was going to teach him how to knit!!! :)

Oh Joan that is a very nice story on all levels ... My yarn shop lady , wanted to close shop several years ago , i told her knitting was back in USA , and soon it will come back here , she breathed deeply and said OK , i will do it 2 more years ,,,,, With a shop full with clients for 3 years now , and getting more full every week [ even in summer ,,, she smiles at me and is so happy she didn`t close ,,, [ And i living 5 minutes walking from the shop , am the happiest ,,, :>:>:>] mirjam

That`s a good idea. I also use a completely clear Christmas tree bauble for that - you end up with a colourful and unusual decoration for the tree, particularly the one you keep for metallics!
