A Breakthrough in Understanding!

Three times I picked out the seam, recut the little piece, marked where it should be stitched, restitched. The third time I opened the basted seam and saw that it STILL didn't match in the corners, I had a breakthrough. I finally realized what was going on.

There, in front of me, was the perfect appliqueable opportunity. ;)

Cheers and remember that sometimes life IS pointless.

no idea what two pieces of fabric are being sewn together but had it been a

4 patch or anything similar with two seam'd pieces that the seams are not meeting when sewn..... consider that the feed dogs underneath pull the lower fabric away you, while the presser foot presses down on the upper fabric and pushes it towards you...

"""in order for the seams to nestle neatly up against one another (making a nice point), the upper fabric seam allowance has to be 'laying away from you'. """"

use a stilletto, bamboo skewer or similar pointy thing to hold it down flat as it goes under the presser foot. might need to turn the whole thing round to get the right config for this to work but it will work if done correctly. hope that makes sense, in a hurry here, laundry to get out while the sun shines. cheers, jeanne
