Thickness of MQing thread

I'm goofing around with some free motion MQing to get back in the swing. I used a fine Trilobar thread on top and a fine rayon on the back. When I didn't follow the lines just right and had some bobbles I got to wondering if a thicker cotton thread would have hidden the bobbles more than the finer threads? Just wondering- for future reference- I haven't really compared the difference weight threads in the past to see how forgiving they may be. Anybody done any in depth study on this? ;-)

No depth study here, Leslie. I think it kind of depends on what works on the specific prints and batt. FWIW, the invisible thread stitching done recently on a photo transfer was Very forgiving. The crib batting I'm using now has some loft to it and that also forgives. Just curious - what would prompt you to use a rayon bobbin? I thought that stuff was just for 'show' . . . but what do I know? Polly

When I mess around I really mess around- the top is white fabric and the back is black. I was experimenting with ideas of reversible using an applique pattern of a bouquet of flowers surrounded with feathered cables with threads to represent the true colors of each flower- kinda a thread painting and quilting in one step. So I wanted pretty thread on top and bottom. It's going okay other than my bobbles. They show up the most on the black side. And I haven't figured out what color to use for binding. I'll worry about that if and when I ever finish the experiment.
