those bass ackwards blocks from yesterday

Yesterday I ripped 8 blocks that I had sewn the ends onto backwards, in other words facing the wrong direction. Got them all re-sewn and quit for the day. This morning I come in to assemble them into the larger scheme of things, and find that I have sewn them on facing the right direction alright, but they are on the wrong ends of the center square. I think I am suffering from some form of quilter's dyslexia. Are there any known cures for this?!?

I think that you need more chocolate. I have heard that people who have stopped eating chocolate have actually been committed with terminal dyslexia.

Two out of three quilters think I need more chocolate in order to solve my disease. I completely agree, and will be watching the mail.

To paraphrase an old carpenters saying, "Measure twice, Quilt once". I think we have all been there at least once. Probably many times.

Oh you must be kidding! Can't you just leave them and pretend it's a deliberate design? Actually, I've done the same thing - painstakingly unpicked something I've sewn wrong only to stitch it back together in a brand new kind of wrong. My sympathies, totally.

I know once I start making mistakes like this, they just seem to keep coming LOL. Look at it this way, it gives you stories to tell every time you see the quilt in the future.

I like the chocolate idea also : )

One time when I was really into sewing clothing, I was late at night finishing up a shirt that I wanted to wear the next. day. I sewed one of the sleeve plackets in backward so that it opened the wrong way. I got really p.o'd and tore it out. Of course you know what I did was tore the other or correct one out and the sewn backward one was still in the shirt. At that point I decided that even though I never wore short sleeve shirts, I felt that this one would look wonderful in short sleeve. I got the scissors out and huzzah! no more bad plackets and a whole new approach to fashion. There is often a "creative" solution to any sewing disaster.
