way OT: the shoe has dropped

The corporation DH works for has filed Chapter 11. We'd like you all to pray that our local plant will not close completely down (they're already cutting production drastically), and that they will keep DH on as an inspector. Anything and everything could happen. Everyone at the plant is kind of just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Until it does, DH and I are determined to remain optimistic. His wages are frozen, and his benefits are being chipped away at. We can tighten our belts, but it is not too soon to pray. Thanks!!

We'll be holding you close, Karen, but know that you'll be fine. DH spent 3 years at a company in bankruptcy. His duties then were mostly killing snakes and pulling weeds. We just sort of marched in place those years but all ended well. Polly

That's a worry, to be lived through every day. Many of us have been through similar so can really appreciate how tough it is. This is going to be a bad year for job losses I fear. All the very best for your DH (and, thus, you).

Karen: It seems that every family has at least one member whose job is chancy. Nearly everyone I know is concerned about a sister, a spouse, a daughter, a cousin, someone who is out of work or wondering if the job will hold. For each person facing this somber issue, I send my very good thoughts and prayers. The economic situation across the globe is very dreary. Hopefully we will see some light at the end of the tunnel soon. Hugs, PAT in VA/USA

Holding positive thoughts that all will work out for the best for you & DH. Is it too soon for him to retire?
