I'm curious! This question is to all of you and yes that does include our lurkers!
Do you consider yourself to be:
A. Stricktly a scrapbooker; B. A scrapbooker that also stamps; or C. A stamper that scrapbookes?
Personally I'm a B. I love to scrapbook but I have a love for stamps. I see them as beautiful objects that I must have , just in case I need them to do something sometime. Ask Deb, I'm pretty addicted to owning those beautiful stamps!
B. I'm a scrapbooker that also stamps. Or at least I'm a scrapbooker that would like to also stamp, so I buy a new set everytime I get invited to a Stampin Up party and plan to use them.
A hoarder! I do that too with paper clips and binder clips and pens! I just like to get them, I don't really use them! (I really did this when I was working in an office! lol) I don't know why I did this, I just did. I'm finding myself to do that to 12x12 paper too. I'm really trying not to though. I don't use a lot of 'funky' paper. Mainly plain colors and such.. but there are times when I see paper that's just neat and I get it and never use it.
*question: I don't have a lot of space. I have paper holders out in the garage and a 4 drawer cart in my bedroom and a crop in style. I put most of my paper in the crop in style. I don't really think I should have done this because now I don't have room for other things. Should I keep all of the paper in the garage in the holders (which I may bring in and put in my closet.. it's big enough)
I don't have a whole lot of organization with my stuff.
I am stamper who turned to scrapbooking. (answer C) I have been stamping for over 15 years and decided scrapbooking (about 5 years ago) was a way to keep my creations, rather than mailing them away. Then I became obsessed with scrapbooking (answer B). I have hundreds of stamps that I use in my scrapbooks. I still love to make cards, just not as many because scrapbooking takes up much of my crafting time!
B or C. I'm a papercrafter. :-) I scrapbook, and I also stamp, but so far I haven't used stamping on a scrapbook layout. I mostly use stamps to make cards and bookmarks. I started as a stamper, then got interested in scrapbooking because of this group.
G> I'm curious! This question is to all of you and yes that does include our > lurkers!
I think I would have to call myself A - strictly a scrapbooker - though I do make a lot of cards too (but rarely using stamps). I have some alphabet and simple ornamental stamps that I use on layouts and cards, but I don't really have many stamps (yet!).
Saying that, I love the effect of artistic stamping and it is definitely something I would like to do more of in the future. I especially would love to be able to make beautiful artistic collages using stamping and other techniques and materials.
I have so much paper that I don't know what I have anymore. Last guestimate was about 3000 sheets.
I store my paper that isn't in blocks in craft holders according to color, type of print, holiday etc.....at least that was the plan before I became addicted. I put the holders clear bins, right now I have 3 very large ones filled, 2 with paper and one with cardstock. Ther weird thing is I have to force myself to use paper, I like simple cardstock layouts the best.
I am pretty organized because I have a room just to scrap in. I bought some inexpensive cabinets and 2 pantries to hold my stuff and I had lots of 3 drawer carts and plastic storage containers. I am rearranging it all right now because I bought another sewing machine and I want to improve the work flow. I want to have a laminate counter attached to the wall so I can set up stations to use various tools.
I am learning to limit myself by asking myself where I am going to put whatever it is that I just have to have and making myself use what I already have as much as possible.
I'm an A. I see stamps as a tool. I will use one if I see it as an appropriate accent. I can't justify buying a stamp that I'm only going to use once. I have acquired about a dozen stamps, mainly via my children. I've *tried* to buy stamps, but never found one that screams, oooh! buy me! Instead, I look and then go buy adhesive. :-)
I would say I am a B. I started off scrapbooking first, then discovered what fun stamping is. I need to incorporate more stamping into my scrapbooking. Most of my stamping right now is for cards.
