Card making frustrations

I'm not ready to post my mother's day cards yet (I don't have a mom, but I have two grandmas and a grandma-in-law to make cards for). I keep messing up! It's so frustrating. I've got one done that I guess I'm happy with, but for the other one I already used up the whole sheet of paper I wanted and I either have to use a different kind or make the long trip to Hobby Lobby to buy more. I either smudge something, or glue something down crooked, or cut it wrong, or I just plain ending up not liking what I've done. Grr! I'm taking a day or two off from this project I think.

Luna - sorry you're having a tough time!

Walking away often helps me when the creative mojo is off kilter. Good luck!

I hate it when thing don't work out the way you want them too. It's really frustrating. Like Jessica says take a deep breath and walk away for a while and see if that helps. Just remember that they will love anything you make for them because you made it.

I know the frustration! I'm mocking up a recipe LO on a 6X6 format for a swap and having a difficult time. Hope you're able to work through it and come up with something you love!

Don't be too critical of yourself. They won't know you didn't mean for "that" to be a little crooked, if they notice at all, or that "that" would look better in the corner, according to you. From one perfectionist to another (it would seem anyway) they're going to love the cards extra special because you took the time to handmake them. Good luck getting them done to your liking. You're doing better than me. I bought a card at the Dollar General store.

I'm so sorry for your frustrations Luna. I hope they worked themselves out and you were able to finish your cards and be happy with them. One thing you can try next time is to sketch out your card before you cut anything. I've done that before when I know I want to use a certain paper. I've made tons of mistakes on my cards. That's when I challenge myself to see how I can either cover up the mistake, or incorporate it into the card. What adhesive do you use for your cards? I use either an adhesive runner (like Tombow, etc) or Scotch brand double sided tape. The double sided tape is permanent and acid free, but I don't usually use it for scrapbooking unless I just run out of any other adhesive. But it's great for cards!
