I went to a card-making bee...

Our church is having 'volunteer weekend' this week... so today I volunteered for the card-making bee. There were seven of us there, and supplies were limited to rubber stamps, ink pads, crayola markers, plain scissors and liquid glue, with pre-cut cards and a small amount of coloured paper... I took my little toolkit with me, and we passed around the gluestick and my favourite pair of shaped scissors.

At first I was racking my brain to figure out how to do the sort of cards I usually do with such limited supplies - I almost never do rubber-stamping! But I ended up making 18 cards during the three hours... I never knew you could do so much with a set of crayolas!

Between us, we filled the table to overflowing with stamped and coloured cards, and a few of the ladies were VERY creative with the supplies...

Here's my cards:

That sounds like a fun and challenging way to make cards! What are they going to do with all of them that you all made?

How fun. Sounds like you had a great time and everyone got a LOT done. Do you do anything special with the cards or do the makers get to keep them?

Somebody's going to take them to the local nursing homes to cheer people up... at least we hope it will cheer them up to get a 'thinking of you' card!

We left them all there and the church is going to distribute them to the elderly...

You looked like you were having a good time. A challenge like this shows your real creativity, and you stood up to the challenge. Great job, Karen, and the cards look wonderful. What a fantastic idea for a service project. Sandy

Wow! That's a lot of cards! That's really neat, Karen. You guys did a great job with the cards. I would be challenged too without all my 48+ ink pads & markers, ribbons, eyelets, and other toys! It looks like everyone had a great time, though.
