toaster ovens work great... thats what most people i know of use...
My Sister uses it all the time in a toaster oven and has no problems with it. BTW: she is a professional artist and is very anal about what she uses. God Bless, Dorothy in NY
I had used my regular oven in the past, but this past summer I bought a toaster oven at a yard sale and it's working great for my Polymer clay adventures.

I too have used my regular oven as well as a toaster over. The problem with using your "regular" oven is that if you should scorch your piece it releases "toxic fumes". I have burned, not just scorched,, a few pieces in our regular oven. However after the last piece I decided to use a toaster oven........be sure which ever one you decide on use an oven thermometer.
Dumb question number 2:
What happens if you burn the piece in the toaster oven? Does that mean the toaster oven is "toast" for cooking food? I covered the cookie tray with tin foil but still burned part of the piece.
I'm so sad. The doll looked so cool prior to me burning pieces of it.

Depends on how "anal" you are. I wouldn't use it to cook food in after burning clay and feed it to say a small child, elderly, or someone with a depressed immune system. It also depends on how burned the piece was.... I never use foil when baking my clay. Place your piece on a piece of card stock. The foil gets too hot and will tend to scortch your piece around the edges. HTH.....
The foil info is helpful. Late but helpful.
The piece wasn't too burnt just darkly toasted. The tiney beads (1/8" round) are black but I kindof like the effect.
I'll post my doll once it is done.

oooh the good to know. Also with toaster ovens it's good to use an oven thermometer to check the temp. Mine runs hot and therefore I set it lover.
