OT: Gina Bull, Was the shooting -

at your school there in VA? Got home late so missed nat'l news, but top news in local. How sad and makes you so mad about what has happened in our society today. Everyone thinks everything has to be resolved with a gun today.

Anyhow wondering if it was your school or area. So here is my prayers and thoughts for you and of course all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

((HUGS!!)) and God Bless

I know...how awful. My DH is pretty broken up about it. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech's civil engineering program. He had a lot of classes in Norris Hall. He called me today when he first heard it and was just stunned. He is just in a very somber mood this evening...still just shocked. I can't even believe what happened. I have strolled along those same sidewalks where bodies were being carried out today. I wonder what drives a person to do something so evil. My prayers are with all of the families and friends of those whose lives were changed today...may God be with them.

I belive that Gina is at the University f Virginia in Charlottesville, VA which would mean that she is OK.

I too am horrified at what happened. Let's take this moment to remind ourselves of those who were lost and their families, but also to remind ourselves that a lot more good happened in the world yesterday than bad. And that more good will happen tomorrow if we all learn to respect each other. And do a little something today to make 33 people smile. Do it in memory of those who did not wake up today to smile at their loved ones. Do it for the hundreds of people who will never see their family member of dear friend again.

The shooting was at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. I'm at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. They are about a 3-hour drive from us. Of course, a lot of students from this area go to Tech, and there are other close ties. In just a few minutes our chapel bells are going to peel for five minutes to coincide with Tech's service at their arena. I think everyone here at UVa will stop whatever they're doing.
