In my dreams!..I would love to go on the one with Tim Holtz to Alaska in May 2008 ON the last one you went to...were there certain times for the scrapbooking and classes, and were there times when you were on your own to do what you want to do? What did your husband do while you were busy being creative? Linda

Most of the classes or meetings were while we were at sea or after dinner. We had first dinner so from 8pm till ? you could go to a scheduled meeting class or free crop. They give you a schedule at the first of the week. They don't crop or class while at dock so you can go see things. While we are in Progresso Darrell and I will use that as US time. He usually goes to the room and watches tv and sleeps or he will go out and just walk around looking. Watching the flying fish at the front of the ship is fun to see!

THey can do lots of things. There are onboard movies, shows, and other things going on. There was even another scrapbooking class given by the ships crew. Never had time to go check it out myself but there was one!. I did tease him and say he was on deck 11 looking DOWN on deck 10. (girls in the sun deck!). There is a 24 hour deli, also the buffett is almost all day. Golf, rock climbing, skating (ice or inline). Close to any port or pulling away is a chance to see dolphins, pelicans, sharks and other things in the water. The ideas are endless.

Are any of these classes and activities open to the other passengers on the ship?

yes if you are a non craffter traveling you can do anything on the ship you want. The liquir, and duty free shops are what cost. All tea, water, buffetts, dining, climbing wall skating, golf etc are free to the passengers. You get a paper in your room each day. If anything cost it will tell you. The scrapbooking taught by the ship is free to all shipees. But only those who paid for the cw productions scrapbooking get that part. The

2009 scrapbooking cruise is being done by another group.

I signed up for this 2008 cruise because I was already in one of the cruises in 2007 and the next one was the 10th, and it was going out of Galveston Tx.

How do they keep those who didn't specifically book a scrapbooking cruise out of the events, classes and crops?

I don't guess they do but each of us had a name tag in a plastic case on ribbon around our necks. I also remember there being a few open slots in each class too. THey know how many booked and how many should be in each class.

I guess at open crop you could come in and crop with everyone else....I am also sure the "NOSEY B*TCHES" would tell if something was wrong. (we had one on this last cruise on carnival...I so wanted to knock her out but .....i kept the lips sealed and fists in my pocket!)

The scrapbooking classes offered by Royal Caribbean aren't that good. They have been doing the same ones for the past 3 or more years. All they have are bright, neon colored papers, a few punches, scissors, pens and some die cuts. They do a layout for Formal Night, a beach layout and one about the ship. It was fun the first time I did it.

On the cruise we took earlier this month, they had a lady teaching craft classes. They were lots of fun. She did a cross stitch picture, a book mark, a fabric cover for a little spiral notebook, a greeting card and a beaded necklace. There were lots of sea days on this cruise! This was the 9th cruise that she had done this year and she gets to bring a friend with her each time. That's the kind of job that I would like to have.
