I'm Back....from our cruise to Mexico!

Had a great time just looking around. took pictures, slept, ate, walked, bought, slept again, ate again, walked more, etc etc.

Carnival is not all it is cracked up to be. I really enjoyed Royal Caribiean (sp?) more. I can name sooooo many differences, but it would take to long. saftey drill too long, The port of Progresso needs to be taken off of their stops, ship layout weird, not as fun as tv lets it out to be, too many young guys and gals getting drunk(one couple taken off ship in cozumel), elevators were very slow-only 2 went to our floor-2 were out of use for a 1 1/2 days,

24 hr cafe was in an odd place, just to name a few.

I did like the room, the dining time, the buffets were alright. the ship was rocking a bit more then the RCCL but i had pills to fix that. Cozumel was beautiful place. Loading on ship was easy.

Other then this came home with several shirts, some jewelry, lots of souveniers. ....

Will post pics later..

Next cruise in MARCH.... scrapbooking 10th annual cruise from Galveston to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Progresso (wont get off), and Rotan Hunduras!!

Hey April! I checked out your pics today from your cruise. The ship looked pretty awesome to me, but then again I have never been on one..lol The menu that you took a picture of....were those prices realllly cheap or reallllly expensive? I looked at the shrimp cocktail price and I couldn't tell if it was $104 or $1.04!! They were all awsome pics, the blue water in Cozumel is beautiful, and the brown water and beach at Progresso was ugly..I have to agree with ya there!

Im glad you two had a great time. You deserved it! :-)

the prices were in pesos.... our mariachi platter we had was a fajita sampler with a chicken and beef fajitas,2chicken tostadas, pico, refried black beans, and a small salad with some weird cheese on it. it was $190 pesos but only $18 american dollars.

The taxi driver in Cozumel told us there weren't sharks in the waters there. We pictured 2 in the water near the ship when we got back. I don't like to swim in waters that I can't see the bottom!....lol

Progresso was a poor town. Should be taken off the port list. I guess everyone needs money so that is it. THe pier must have been 2 miles or more long. We went thru a little shopping building then to a a/c bus outside to take us to town.

When we go back in March I might get off to go get a six pack of sodas but that is it and back on the boat. I will be busy scrapbooking then anyway. Gotta remember to bring an extra suitcase too.

Glad to see you back safe & sound. Sorry to hear that it wasn't as up to par as you'd liked. To me, I think of Carnival as more of a party ship. Your March trip sounds fun though. Next time you need to try the Bahamas.

I've started shopping around for my next cruise. This time I'm going to have to get a passport. It's either going to be Royal Carribean or Disney again. Probably Disney though. My niece was mad that we went w/ out her last time. She graduates this year so mom and I are going to take her, maybe her little brother too. He's 10.

We went to the Virgin Islands-Bahamas-Puerto Rico in March 2007 on Royal Carribean. I had a pen pal of 20+ yrs there that I got to meet. I had a COW friend in the VIrgin Islands but missed her.

This trip was Carnival Ecstasy 5 day to Cozumel-Progresso Mexico.

The one this next MArch is Costa Maya Mexico,Cozumel Mexico,Progresso Mexico, and then Rotan Honduras. It will be the Royal Caribiean Voyager of the Seas. 10th anniversary Scrapbooking Cruise for 7 days.

Glad you're home safe, April! Can't wait to see the pictures!

Can you tell me why not to get off in Progresso? We are crusing RCCL in January and Progresso is one of our ports. We really are going just to relax, but I like getting off at the ports. So please share why I shouldn't bother at Progresso.
