Secret Santa Sign-ups - 2 days left

Thursday, October 19th will be here in two days. That's the deadline for sign-ups for Secret Santa this year.

Here is the information again in case you missed it in the earlier post:

For those of you who have never played before or are fairly new to the group this is similar to a swap, but you only get one person to sent to. Please, remember, you must be a member for three months to participate in Secret Santa.

I was going to wait until the end of October to post the call, but a couple of members have already contacted me about it. I believe there were issues about our members overseas not getting their packages until a couple of months after the holidays. We want to have plenty of time for shopping and shipping.

I also thought it would be kinda fun to start a little early as we won't be having a NSSSF for the next three months. Who ever said Santa doesn't send out Fall/Halloween cards or give out candy to the elves.

Participants will fill out a questionnaire so their Secret Santa will be able to personalize the gift package for the receiver. Please remember that the gift(s) need to be new current items, not old things from your unused/unwanted stash.

If you are not interested in (or can not afford to) partnering with someone internationally, please be sure to make it on your form. Shipping cost internationally are more expensive than domestic US mail. Not all of our members are in the US and we don't want someone to feel burdened with an extra expense they were not expecting.

Please DO NOT post your questionnaire to the newsgroup. This is a super secret activity. We don't want anyone to know who you are, or even who all is playing.

Now for the "official rules"

  1. Mail the "form" below to me (Sandy) before October 19. Everyone will have
10 days to see the post and decide if they want to play.

  1. I will match you up with someone else on the group.

  2. You must be a "regular" on the group for three months to participate. (Do a search on rcs.google to see when you started posting if you are not sure.)

  1. You will spend approximately .00 (or close to it) on a scrap/acid free gift.

  2. If you sign up PLEASE follow through with it. If for some reason, you won't be able to follow through PLEASE let me know as soon as possible so that someone won't be disappointed and everyone gets a gift who participates.

  1. You will NOT be matched in pairs, it will be random.

  2. Enjoy the spirit of being a Secret Santa. Giving, sharing and caring.......and being very, very sneaky. Notes, cards and e-mails are just a few of the ways you can 'tease' your "giftee".

  1. If you receive a 'teaser' from your Secret Santa, post to the group to let us know about it. We all like to be a part of the holiday spirit between participants, even those of us not participating..

  2. PLEASE try to have your packages in the mail no later than December 15 for domestic, and December 8 for international mailing.

  1. You can not open your gift until December 25th.

  2. After you open your gift, please post within the next few days to the group to thank your Secret Santa!

  1. If you are in need of more information from your "giftee" please e-mail me and I will be the go-between.

It sounds like fun, but I'll have to pass... we might be going to buy a house, so we need every penny! I'm only going to do card swaps this christmas to save a little money...

I'm going to have to pass also. Next week is my last day of work and I will be staying at home to help my DH with our business. So I won't have any extra at all to spend. Thanks though.
