I agree with sandy. If you sign up now crystal you should be ok. I don't know how long you been posting but it seems like a awhile. It's not like you just pop in every couple of weeks. You've really been involved in the board. Just my thought also.
Another group I was in did it with a couple of large paper dolls that went right around the world... I made a special trip into town when I had them so I could get shots with them at all the major tourist spots. Alas that board closed down before I could do anything with the photos I took, but it was still fun!
I think we should be o.k. if we keep it simple.
I know I have several areas that we can visit. I know Sarah will be game and Alyssa & Nicole are coming up in September so it will be fun to get them involved.

Thanks guys, I think it is such as cute idea. This is my second month of posting I think. I don't want to jump ahead of all the regular members who have been here for a while but I would like to join in on the fun though with the little guys. Do I need to actually "join" this group, or is being subscribed and active for a certain amount of time automatically qualify me?

We have ways of checking to see how many postings you have been doing each month.
I'm sure you are trustworthy and we don't want to not include you but unfortunately for a few of us who had bad experiences with swaps and things we just have to be careful.
I know I had a bad experience with my Secret Santa as it was the hostess who had to tell me who it was as opposed to the Secret Santa telling me. The Secret Santa has never returned to the board or thanked her Secret Santa for their gifts.
We also have a "flaker" on another swap with whom we are having trouble locating -- 4 months past the deadline.
It's up to M-C our Chairwoman extraordinare.

Well it is usually up to the hostess and in this case, that would seem to be Kathy (K2) since she is the guardian of our new mascots and they should end up back with her and the layouts should be sent to her. I would volunteer for this one, but I'm in the middle of planning that big crop for Savannah the 8 month old that is in need of a liver transplant within the nest 3-4 months, so I'm not sure I'm the best person to do this. I will however create a page. Kathy are you up to setting up the list? Don't forget phone numbers and this time we will want them all, home, work and cell phone.
However, this is my suggestion. If Crystal is far enough down the list, and we start this one with our long time regulars getting the mascots first, then by the time Crystal gets our traveller, then she will have been a regular for long enough. Frankly, Webster and Waddles ended up caught up in the home of a person who was a long time poster when she got them, so personally I want to warn Kathy that when doing something like we are doing here, there is always a chance that the mascots will be lost in the mail or not make it back.
So here is my suggestion on what I'd personally like to see happen:
- The hostess prepares the list and the box and we post the list of participants in random order online, minus the personal info of course, and make sure that M-C gets a complete copy.
- The hostess posts the person getting the mascot(s) next on RCS
- The 1st person responds on RCS that she is ready and emails the hostess confirming that her personal information has not changed, including her 3 phone numbers (home, work and cell) and that she will be able to receive, host, photograph and scrap the mascots and ship them off within two weeks. If not she asks to be changed to the bottom of the list and the hostess contacts person 2.
- The hostess emails the person the information on who she (person 1) will be sending the mascots on to (person2).
- The 1st person getting the box goes out and gets the right size priority box to ship her layout (8.5x11) plus the mascots on to the next person.
- The 1st person also purchases a priority label with tracking number and postage made out to the 2nd person on the list. You can easily order both the box for free and the priority label on the usps website and tracking is then free.
- The 1st person emails a picture of herself with the labeled and pre-postage priority box to the hostess and myself. This picture will also be part of her layout. It's her waiting for the mascot's piture.
- The hostess sends off the mascots via priority, tracked box to the 1st person.
- The 1st person gets the mascots, shows her mascot the sites, creates her
- The 1st person before mailing her layout out, takes a picture or scans her layout and sends copies to the hostess and M-C via email.
- repeat steps 3-10. changing the names from "hostess and person 1" to "person 1 and person 2" respectively.
I hope this helps and makes sense. If so, I'll get that webpage going under ongoing swaps. I'll need the sign up and start dates from the hostess and as people sign up, I'll need to know from the hostess who is participating so I can update the page.

I will host, but on one condition: the pages, which can be sent to me, will eventually be given to Katrina in KS, as the original Webster and Waddles were hers.

We should agree on a layout size:
12x12 8.5x11 8x8 6x6Just a suggestion so we don't all do different sizes.
Kate
12x12 is really hard to ship which is why I suggested 8.5 x 11. It will also make it easier for Kathy to ship it to Katrina and there is more space than on the other standard layouts so that we can do only one page each which mekaes it easier to put in a book and keep the chronology.
Just my 2 cents worth, M-C
Maybe, but can you fit the mascots in the pizza box too? It makes sense to send everything on together, plus it allows everyone to see the LOs as they go from place to place. Kathy can even put in a8.5 x 11 album in with the mascots to slip the LOs in. Again, just my thoughts on practicality!
M-C
Besides, I believe Katrina is an 8.5x11 scrapper, which will allow the album to fit right in with the rest of her albums. Sandy
Sure, if they're typical beanie baby size--depends on how many layouts will go in there though.
That's a good idea about the album--won't have loose bits all about that way! :-)

Is this still in the works?? Hugs Irene
