good day making a repair

Some days you do something that makes you feel really good.Just a little sewing job. My 24 y.o. DGD asked me if I could fix a zip in a dress she has. She's working hard and putting herself through school for her Masters. She's pretty much dead broke and doesn't have extra money to pay someone fix it. So to make a short story, shorter, I said I'd do it. The dress has an invisible zipper. The skirt was not one I wanted to open the seam on. So I tackled it and was able to do a nice neat replacement job without opening the seam below the zip. I used my narrow zip foot. no bump at the bottom of the seam.I'm happy with myself.

Congratulations. That's a real success story. ;-)

It's not the big things in life that make us feel good. It's not sabre rattling in Congress or the U.N. It's not earthquakes on the other side of the world. It's doing a small job with satisfaction. It's the little things. Did I tell you about the lamp switch I got to put on my bedside lamp (which I love)? Instead of the little knurled knob that tears up my fingertips, I got this monster replacement, a three-winged knob that's about 2 inches across, and turns my lamp on and off with almost no effort whatsoever. And it brings a smile every single time.

It's the little things that make life worth living.

I can only agree to that. And: Good job, both of you! (OK, I didn't mean to sound patronizing, sorry if I did.)

Very late in congratulations from here but we've been overpowered with life happenings. Getting that zipper in with nary a bump is a great grand achievement. Good, GOOD for you. Polly
