microfiber cloth: ironing?

I want to lengthen a pair of microfiber slacks - love the fit, but they're a bit too short. Will I be wasting my time i.e. will I be able to iron them and make the present hem line disappear? Any further tips?

I bought the exact same pant in ano. color and they are the perfect length. So much for not trying on both pair.......fool, me. I should've returned them, but got lazy. I may have to donate them.

You can buy the hem tape in a matching color, and after you let the hem out you sew the tape to the bottom and turn it up and hem. It's found with the bias binding, close to the thread in the store. This way, you can lengthen the hem the maximum amount. HTH Barbara in SC

When it's necessary to lengthen pants and skirts for one reason or another, have you thought about adding some decorative trim at the old seamline?

You could then add some decorative pocket of another fabric with the trim around the edge, which will give the item a customized look.

Well....... Microfiber what? Microfiber is most commonly, in ready to wear, the name put on polyester fabrics. Microfiber can actually be any number of different fabrics.

What is the fiber content on the tags? That makes a difference in what I will tell you to TRY using to remove the crease from the hem.

Splice in some fabric that blends and make it a design feature. Most of the microfiber clothing fabrics are polyester, and they tend to hold creases.

FWIW, if I recall the original story, the seamlines in these pants came about because of lack of quite enough fabric:

you can run a couple of rows of decorative or topstitching over the old creaselines if you decide to open the original hem/
