Washing out smell from wool/Sun

If you wash the wool, it will felt and the texture will change.

I suggest experimenting and sponge the wool very lightly with white vinegar, air outdoors [not in direct sunshine], do not use or keep it in a plastic bag. Try this first on a small sample = check also that there is no shrinkage or color change.

Felting is from shocking the wool with temperature changes, and from agitation. It is easy to wash wool without felting it, and it is a much more pleasant fabric to work on and wear if it has been washed.

I never saw a sheep with an umbrella, nor with a felt coat.
