The success is attributed to Georgetown Online's ongoing policy of an online environment rated safe for all ages, no Spam, no advertising and of course the messages.

".I sailed from Maracaibo, Venezuela to Aruba - a three day beat into the trade-winds." "I aptly named her after the Dickens' character Uriah Heap, but she seemed to lose her soul. Perhaps the boat was doomed from the start.."

Power boaters, sailors, wooden boat enthusiasts and boat builders from around the Globe are meeting at The Wooden Boat Forum.

I am the webmaster of Georgetown Online. I have operated the site for several years and do not, under any circumstances, promote this Spam.

Regrettably, an over anxious, youthful member of my household thought he was doing me and perhaps the boating world, a favour by advertising my site. I assure you that when he arrives home tonight he will be grounded and lose his computer privileges for several weeks.

Please accept my profound apologies.

Slow down a bit Admiral. I sailed to the site and enjoyed the voyage. I have an interest in wood boats and was glad to get a line on the site. A little beam from the lighthouse or a toot from the fog horn can help guide us to new ports. Don't to to hard on the lad. Captin Don

Commodore,

Maybe you should just keel-haul him once or twice and be done with it. :-) :-)

Commodore, I suspect that you are secretly proud. A lot of dads wish they had loyal & supportive offspring, no matter the inappropriateness of their posts. As they grow up, we sure look forward to their email, even when they think that we are the drive-up window at the bank. ;) For OnT, do you turn belaying pins for wooden boats? Arch

What's "fortiter" mean, Arch?

Hi Abe, Fortiter means fortitude, bravely, etc. It's a clan motto. It does not refer to a well endowed heifer's udder! :) Arch

Thanks. I knew the "fort" root was Latin, but didn't recognize that the whole word is Latin. I suppose a moment with Uncle Google would have cleared it up... but instead I tried the online English dictionary and came up with a goose egg. Doh.

Hi Abe & Grandpa, I reckon we've ruined this thread. I just hope that we haven't caused an uproar among our good, strictly on topic, no nonsense members. At least not as loud as when a nervous titter ran through the audience during a recent demo. ARRGH! Without even the decency to blush, Arch
