Photos of shop made Jet mini lathe spindle adapters

I recently made some jigs for my new Jet mini lathe. These are duplicates of jigs that I use frequently on my other lathe. Since the spindle on a Jet mini lathe is a common size, 1" by 8 TPI, I made some spindle adapters from

1" nuts. Using my metal lathe, and a shop made temporary jig made from a 1" bolt buried in some scrap wood, I faced the nuts and relieved the threads internally to clear the unthreaded portion of the Jet spindle next to the registration surface.

These were secured in some maple cylinders cut from thrift store rolling pins with J.B.Weld metal epoxy. I made two screw chucks, a small one using a conformat (MDF) screw and a large one using a Teknatool Woodworm screw that I purchased at the local Woodcraft store. I turned a chuck containing a 3/4" grade 8 bolt to hold tapped wooden blanks I use to make jam chucks. I also made a duplicate ring collar chuck (donut chuck) for reverse chucking bowls to turn off the pine glue blocks. This chuck uses the same rings as those made for my other lathe.
