Tealight Holders UK? My Thanks

My thanks to all for their help and suggestions.

I have found just what I need at Ikea in London.

Chris Stott also recommended the same outlet.

If anyone else is looking in the UK they look reasonably good on the web and reasonably cheap!

Each can do but little! But if each DID that little, ALL would be done!

Peter, I have just spent ages searching the web for tealight holders, including the Ikea site, but not found anything suitable. I don't know don't know what you were after, but I was looking for as small as possible plain glass - like you find as inserts in the in the now popular wrought iron holders. Did you fond any of these on your travels?

On a more general note, am I right in assuming that if a tealight is placed directly into a bored hole in wood it could ignite the wood, and that a glass insert would prevent this?

TIA

Richard, I have turned tealight holders without inserts and the wood doesn't even get warm. Prior to making them I took some convincing that my wood wouldn't go up in flames :)

=========================== There have been some cases of wooden holders catching fire. I don't know the particulars, but have been told by others that it has happened to them. Take that as you like. When I turn one, I glue a penny in the bottom. That gives it some clearance for air circulation, and allows for heat dissipation. It also makes sure my turning has some value! {:-)

If I'm only doing 1, I use a drop of RTV; if several, then I have some high temp epoxy (red) that is used for A/C repair. If I remember, it came from Grainger.
