wet pen blanks

I got some wet pen blanks

I was warned not to use them in pens because of an increased chance of cracking.

But can I dry them such as in the microwave?

I wouldn't use the microwave. It's likely to overheat them and cause them to crack. Instead, use a food dehydrater. Coat the ends with anchorseal and stack them log-cabin-style with spaces in between for air circulation in a food dehydrater.

I've used the microwave several times on wet blanks with not bad results. The latest was some wet Hackberry. There was a fair amount of warping and twisting but I had cut them oversize to start with so it was not a problem.

Check the archives searching on "microwave drying" and "boiling pen blanks" for a pretty exhaustive discussion on both these methods.
