Neat... those little greenish-grey thingies down closer to the ground look like what are called Mother Hen & Chicks around here... from the cactus family, I believe. :o)

Speaking of cactus, I am amazed at cacti... someone gave me a small piece (about three fingers wide) of one she had growing in her garden about four years ago. I planted it in the flowerbed at the old house, then when we moved here to this house, I dug it up and put it in a basket. Because it was the end of October when we moved to this house, I thought planting it outside might shock it... so instead I put the basket it was in inside the bathroom. That first summer I put it out on the deck, and that's where it has been ever since (under a foot or more of snow in the winter).... it is still healthy and growing like crazy.... it's almost too big for the basket. :o)

Surpriiiiise....I finally gave in to signing up thru Google. Hi, everyone, LTNS, I've missed you all! ::waves madly, teeters back and forth, gets astonished expression, falls over in usual display of grace and poise:: Erm, well. I'm back. LOL.

Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes! (and a special thanks to Nora for emailing me, bless her; she got me off the stick. I'm still on AOLach, I haven't gotten around to moving to cable yet - hey, it involves Major Furniture Moving, not to mention the $$ - and blast it, a year or so's *more* than enough to go without talking to one of the best gangs around!) Good to 'see' you all again! Aud, *gorgeous* picture - hen& chickens blooming, good heavens, never seen 'em do that in real life. And yes, thank you everyone, I had a great day...hosted a special New Year's Eve chat with a bunch of friends clear across the US, for about 5-1/2 hours...hit midnight in 3 time-zones before I got too tired to type any more, LOL. (couldn't have been the O'Mara's I was drinking, could it??) Then listened happily to crazy neighbors setting off fireworks for our Pacific time midnight. Was fun. Oh, and got myself a special present, something I've wanted for decades: a swift, at long last. From Joann.com, *with* a 50% off coupon on their webpage, which made it only $30 - !!! - and free shipping, even. Talk about a present!

Yeah, I still babble. ;) Yep, still making major parenthetical comments. Got a *lot* of catching up to do. Hope everyone's survived, is doing ok, had great holidays, and are living happily. Happy belated New Year to you all, and thanks for remembering me! Not to mention Nora, again, for emailing me direct. {{{Nora}}}

Well, I'm glad I sent you that note then and to see you back. Google hasn't been great lately, but I've been getting replies back from them that they were having techincal problems that should be fixed. Better be, or they will get another nasty note from me.
