It's beautful. The person that rejected it is an idiot.

Shirley, your tassel is just gorgeous! I can identify the beads, but I'm wondering what type of fiber you used. It has a lovely sheen...

Thank you. That is the annoying part that I had to send away for the threads, an expense I would otherwise not occurred. I do not like cotton for my tassels because it does not have any swish or zing to it. So I use viscose, rayon, silk for it. Sometimes I use that knitted stockinet rayon. Trouble is they are hard to find and are not cheap.

I saw the UK bead guild making tassels at a show and they were not using a mould like I do. They just got a hank of thread, folded it over and tied it at the top and then started doing freeform peyote over it. Then they cut the bottom of the skirt level. Looked very nice and I asked about the threads, some of them were spaced died. They sent me to a stall where they were being sold. I blanched at the price of them, they were 20 pounds or more for 1 hank. That is nearly half of one weeks retirement pension for me. So the threads stayed on the stall.

Perhaps another time when I have save up to go to the show.

Thank you.

It amazing to think that the jacket started out as two bags of random carded fluff, one being merino wool and the other alpaca. When I saw it at the spinning supply place I knew I had to have it and no idea what I would do with it.

Oh it's gorgeous! A work or art! Her loss, that's for sure. :-P

Ahhhh...I wondered whether it was silk. I didn't guess viscose or rayon, though.

BTW: When I asked what fiber you used, I was thinking in terms of beauty, not functionality. Your tassle is very, very pretty. You really do deserve to find a buyer who will appreciate not only its beauty but also your thoughtful design (e.g., the "swish").

Allow me to echo Kandice's sentiments -- the tassel is beautiful, and shows true talent. That's almost impossible to find today, when most items are made by the millions and sold in big box retail stores. Poor lady doesn't realize quality when she sees it.
