gee I am mad!

What ever happened to competition in business? I have just made an enquiry about purchasing a Brother PR600 - my usual dealer (great guy) now informs me that they cannot price discount even for cash., cant even offer any incentive to buy. £5000 for a machine and then tells me that it is an extra £750 for the cap attachment - well maybe I better get another coffee and make some more plans. Also shocked me that Brother UK no longer service warranty at home anymore since last June , you have to return it to the dealer. This was one reason I always bought Brother Machines for the service if I ever had a problem Well sorry to rant just so annoyed at them.

I can sympathise because I've been there, well almost. I too have a Brother machine and when I thought I had a problem -- machine was making a funny noise. I got in touch with my local store but they said they don't do servicing anymore, Brother has to do it and I had to get in touch with them direct -- I couldn't even go through them. As it was still under an extended warrenty I thought I would have no problems, how wrong I was.

I spoke to someone in the servicing department and he asked if it was a mechanical fault --I didn't know-- all I knew it was making a funny noise. He then told me to switch on my machine so he could listen to it over the phone, which I couldn't do as my machine was nowhere near the phone. How can you diagnose a fault over the phone? He then told me that he could send someone out to look at it but if it was not mechanical I would have to pay a call out charge of £75. So my extended warrenty was absolutely worthless. I will never buy from Brother again. I can't believe how they treat their customers.

As to the PR600, a friend bought one from Jaycotts and the cap attachment was £600 if bought with the machine -- £750 if bought separate.
