I don't use the glue in scrapbooks. I like the doublesided tape. Sorry.

I saved a bit of money by switching from glue dots to those self-adhesive squares for my photos etc. It's a bit of a pain to peel off the backing and gather up all the scraps at the end, but they're a lot cheaper than gluedots (and they're more easily removed from the page when you decide you've messed it up!)

I used to use gluedots for all my cards... and I tried various glue pens. But they're too expensive so I've changed to your generic gluesticks for everything that doesn't matter (and that is glueable with them) and I save the gluedots for the little fiddly embellishments etc.

I don't know of any liquid glue that isn't horribly messy and more expensive than gluesticks.

I have a liquid glue in a bottle (like a white Elmer's glue) that I'd love to use more often, but I find the liquid glues make things wrinkle up. I've experimented with using the teeny tiniest amount and still wrinkling. Something has to be very think or not papery to avoid wrinkling.

You are getting the wrong kind of double sided tape if that is what you are doing. Check out what creative memories or stamping up has to put it on. It is a dispenser where you just run it over the back of the picture

- don't need much to put on the back of the picture, and there is nothing to peal off. Much faster than even glue! And cleaner.

Dispensers are invariably more expensive than the boxes of photo tabs. I've got a dotto dispenser that I got on sale, but refills for that are WAY too expensive!

I got several boxes of the tabs at a scrapbook yard sale at the LSS for 50 cents apiece only to find out that they were that cheap because they didn't stick for long. Several of the LO's I made with them fell apart a couple of months later and I had to restick them. I mostly use the hermafix myself, but use it very sparingly. I have seen people at crops run a whole strip all the way around everything they stick on a LO. I use just a dot or two in each corner. I'm going to have to check myself to see just how many LO's I average on a single fill of my dispenser. I did buy one of the bigger ones called a Glue Glider Pro that has a 40 foot roll. I used a 35% off coupon to buy it to give it a try. I usually use any coupons for hermafix refills. Sandy

Duck makes a double sided tape that is acid free and safe for photos. You can find it at Walmart it runs anywhere from 2.59 to 2.97 a roll and depends upon where you get it. I also like the Martha Steward gel glue it works great to.

I haven't had that problem with these double tape dispensers. But then I use page protectors, so that may be why.

(I get confused when there are too many quotes. It is a problem when one is simple minded.) :) :D

I don't know. I use page protectors also. Thank goodness as all of the pieces that slide off are still together. I think this particular brand was a real cheap one. I had never seen it before. Don't even remember what kind it was. Sandy

I use double sided tape, most specifically the creative memories. In the long run it really is way, way cheaper than buying glue sticks as you only need to roll it onto the corners when doing photos or papers, and there is 34 feet of tape. I scrap all the time, for hours at a time... meaning I am extremely productive and It takes me about 4 or 5 months, sometimes more before I run out of tape. Yes, there is the initial cost of buying the dispenser (which is filled) at about $7. As a dilligent worker I use two rolls of tape a year, at most. HOWEVER, THEY CAN BE FOUND ON EBAY FOR MUCH LESS.

I've never had the tape fail. It is permenant although youdo have a little bit of time beore it really sets so if you need to make an adjustment it is not a problem at all.

Further, I have been scrapbooking for 26 years and have used all types of glues. They really tend to deteriorate over time. Scrapbooks that I made 15 years ago with double sided adhesive are still in tact. The ones I glued, are not. So, I'm a firm believer in the tape.

Good luck in your search for what is right for you!
