I need help

I am relatively new to scrapbooking... about a year but I haven't spent too much time yet on it. I do love it though. I have a question about the newsgroup thing.... I am VERY new to this. How can I get my computer to eliminate the posts I have read? I just can't figure it out.

Terry, do you use Outlook Express? If so, what I do is to "highlight" the messages I'm finished with. Just put your cursor on the message and press "delete" on your keyboard. I sometimes even read a whole thread and then highlight the first messag, press "shift" and keep it in, while moving with my arrow keys to the last message so that all of them are highlighted and then press delete. Hope this helps. :)

Welcome Terry!! I live in Kitchener! And I have only lived here for a year, so I am not sure where or how close Georgetown is! :)

as far as removing posts.... I don't think you can... if you can its news to me! LOL The list just gets longer and longer and the new posts are highlighted so you know which ones to read. As far as I can tell, it just holds onto so many and eventually the older ones are replaced with newer ones... (I have posts going all the way back to February 2003) *shrug* I use outlook so it may depend on what program you are using... and then again maybe I have absolutely no idea what I am talking about! LOL This is just what I have experienced! :)

Well I guess I wasn't much help... but I wanted to at least welcome you to the group and to scrapbooking!!

Thanks Hannah, Kitchener!!!!! You are very close about 45 minutes away. In fact my son lives there. Email me privately and we can get together to crop. I stay home during the day and I have a very messy craft room with lots of supplies. Terry

Hrmm I just tried to email you and it got sent back....

If you use outlook express.....go up to the task bar, click on View.....Current view.....Hide read or ignored messages. This will get rid of all the messages that you have read when you close out your group. I also will go up to Edit.....Mark all read, if I'mfinished reading all of the messages that have been downloaded that I want to read. This will clear out the ones that I didn't really have any interest in. Then when I come back to read next time....it will be all new messages that I haven't seen. HTH Sharon

Thank you Sharon... that worked just great!!!! Terry in Georgetown Ontario

*Smiles* Glad to be of some help!! Sharon
