New to Usenet

Hi! I'm Wavy G. This is my very first post, and my first time ever in a newsgroup. What do you guys talk about and stuff? I'm hoping to come out of this with a better outlook on life, and share a few laughs, and hopefully make some good friends here too! So don't be afraid to write back. Good night, I love you!!@

Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin', we're gonna do what they say can't be done. We got a long way to go, and a short time to get there. I'm eastbound, just watch ol' "JennP" run.

What's wrong with my email address? You're going to reject me, just because I happen to have a service provider named "Imsexy.com"? That's very discriminitory (spelling?) of you.

Wow, my first day on the Internet, and already I'm getting hassled.

Hassled? No. Questioned? Yes. If you're new to UseNet, you'd be better served by lurking and watching what goes on- what conversations, what's discussed, etc... Also, if you are new to UseNet and posting to newsgroups, it'd probably be better to join groups that the *name* represents something you're really interested in. And, even before I looked at the posting information (which included your IP and email address) I was skeptical because of your comments. "Rec.Crafts.Scrapbooks" is a newsgroup that talks about "SCRAPBOOKS" and you didn't mention anything about them. If you need information, you can check the group's website at:

So? How's Cincinatti? I see you're on dial up...

This is a nice group and we share our scrapbooks, our ideas and even parts of our lives. I'm sorry if I offended you by being protective of my friends and wondering about a questionable post. You're welcome to prove me wrong.

Thanks! Theresa in IL

Listen, I don't know what kind of super hacker technology you used to get into my computer, but I was warned about people like you when I first told everywon that I was getting Internet access. I I have to do is make a phone call, and I can have the police track you down and find your secret base.

PLEASE DO. Whoever you call will laugh at you.

As someone who co-owns and operates a small ISP, I know what is legal for me to do and what isn't...and frankly, you're lucky I don't simply cancel all your posts.

You aren't exactly getting off to a good start here.

So, what have you scrapbooked lately?

Thanks! Theresa in IL

Welcome to RCS Wavy G. We talk about scrapbooking mostly but occasionally other things too.

Thank you Teresa. It is good to be here! As for the topic of this newsgroup, I used to work wonce a week as a babysitter for mothers in a scrapbooking club at the local church. And thank you for asking, by the way. No won here bothered to welcome me, or even attempt to discuss such things, before deciding to assault me head on.

I am looking forward to having many pleasant conversations with you in the future.

I love you.

Listen honey, you don't have to try to put me down, or make me feel stupid, just to impress your scrapbooking friends. I am new here, and a little hazing is to be expected. However, I don't think this kind of treatment is necessary. I'm sure the good people of this newgroup won't think any less of you for not "holding your stick," or "marking your space," as it were.

Carry on.

Welcome to Usenet. It's called headers and anyone who knows how to read them, can. It's not hacking, it's the path your message takes to get to r.c.s. Like I said, anyone who can read headers can figure it out.

Uhmmmm no offence to you...that's called AUTO RESPONSE and on top of that you are using "script" software which is not good netiquette. Don't want to be rude but kindly turn it off, as IMHO it can be viewed as SPAM.

Welcome Eric

Although December 2000 you were on usenet with this ISP/Username/email address combination, new isn't how I would describe you.....4 years of archived postings puts you as an oldtimer. Although....kudos for keeping the same email and isp for so long!

No "offence" (LOL) to you either, Judy, but using an introduction line (which, by the way, could be something like the won I have, or could be as simple as "'JK' wrote:") is not considered "spam." I may be new to the Internet, but I know how to do research.

Spam is sending multiple copies of unsolicited advertisement messages to newsgroups, mailing lists, message boards, etc... So I ask you, Judy, what am I selling (other than the opportunity to get to know me)? Hmm?

And as far as the accusation of using "script software," I must ask, is "Free Agent" considered "script software"? If it is, I am not aware of this term, and I certainly didn't have bad "netiquette" on my mind when I installed it on my computer.

I was under the assumption that Free Agent was simply a free newsreading software, (similar to "Outook Express," which comes with "Windows"), available for download on the Internet. If I am incorrect about this, and it actually IS some kind of malicious hacking software, please let me know, and I will remove the it from my computer ASAP.

All this aside, what kind of stuff are you interested in, Judy? Let's talk.

Love, Wavy G.

Well, our new friend here seems to be an active troll all over UseNet, isn't a newbie to the net or newsgroups, and is basically a shit-disturber. "Wavy G" even has HIS own newsgroup. (...or should we say fan club?)

If anyone is REALLY interested in reading things that HE has to say, you can check it out at: alt.fan.wavy-g You can also see a list of his fine troll work here:

(make sure the & is attached when you put it in your browser to see all his postings. When I did this in Google, it said " Results 1 - 10 of 18,600 for wavy g (0.25 seconds) " 18,600 posts is a lot for a newbie who just got internet recently!! I'm not going to engage this character anymore... He's not here for the group, only his own amusement. I want to thank those in the group (who might not want to be mentioned but I would because she's a nice person) ;-) who helped to solve the mystery of the "newbie" nicknamed "WavyG" at email snipped-for-privacy@Imsexy.com which has set warning bells off since the first post appeared.

Back under your bridge, Troll.

Thank you. It's nice to be here! And, now that I am over the initial shock of discovering that personal information about me is being sent with my posts, I don't mind you figuring out my forename. Anyways, thanks again. Talk to you soon. I love you.
