Last week, most of my sewing was repairs, but I finished the 1st Communion pew banner. It was a rainbow patchwork of small grosgrain ribbon squares. They were not fun to sew. I ended up deciding that it was easier to sew all the seams first, then soak the whole thing and press the seams open when they were already being held open at both ends by the stitching.
My younger children had stick horses or stick unicorns and my 11 yo wanted to join their fun. I used scraps that I had around and made her a purple stick unicorn with a silver mane, horn and nostrils. Continuing with the leftover theme, I stuffed it with plastic shopping bags and used a party-favor pool noodle for the stick.
