joining 2 peices of cushion foam

What is the best way to join 2 peices of 1 inch cushion foam - I need a peice 48x72 and the best I can do 1s 2 24x72s due to time and $$ - It will be wrapped in fibre fill and double covered, once by a close fitting poly fabric and then a stiffer plastic backed canvas - the seam line will have to have some -give- as it is a flat cushion going into a bowl shaped chair which also means that the seam will most likely NOT be sat onbut at a lower back level - would fabric -No Sew- liquid work - any help would be useful

It's not a terribly good idea. But if you can't find foam that is the right size, you can use spray glue. If you want it to hold up for as long as possible, go to a car upholstery place and ask them if you can buy a can of headliner glue. Don't use a spreadable glue. Use a spray on. You can maybe get by with regular spray on craft glue.

Not sure where you are but we have a local place that will cut any size foam to order. I do believe they will ship also. You might check the yellow pages or Google for a local place to you. Here is a link to the place in Albany NY

My husband was an upholsterer and he used a special spray glue for foam. He got it from an upholsterer supply place. Look t up Google. Aud
