Serger repair manual, White Superlock 534

I have a Superlock 534 whose belt is slipping badly. I can obtain a new belt but I can't figure how to get the hand wheel side plate off to take the old belt off and put a new one on.

The motor cover comes off, but I can't see how the side plate can be removed. There must be a trick that is not obvious.

Thanks,

Dave

Way too much for the manual I can do it for less. The cover as I recall there are 2 screws on the bottom that hold the side cover on

Thanks Ron, there does not seem to have two apparent screws showing. It looks like I will have to remove the bottom plate which probably reveal the two screws holding the side plate. I will try that next.

Dave C. After looking at the service manual it appears you will have to remove the top and front covers to get at the 2 screws that hold the side covers on.

Ah, helpful informations. I can do that with no problem.

By the front cover, do you mean the front cover where the tension disks are located?

Are the two screws that hold the side plate located the top or bottom of the the side cover?

(Sorry for all the questions.)

Thanks and my best regards,

Dave C.

Thank you for your help. I am going to get to it shortly. I am located on Cape Cod and with the snow coming tonight and tomorrow, we will be at home with time to look into putting on the belt.
