White super lock 534 Need Help

I can't figure out how to disengage the cutter blades to just overlock, not cut. I haven't had the machine long and the manual makes no reference how to do this. Can someone help?

The manual explains how to disengage the upper cutter on page 7:

However, the whole point of having a cutter blade on a serger is cleanly to cut excess fabric from the edge so that the threads wrap around the edge. Otherwise you will jam up your serger with excess fabric.

After looking in the parts book and users manual I do not believe on that model you can disengage the knives--
