Ties

Thanks in advance for any help. I have made a headboard/wall sham for a double bed in a guest room. Basically just made a giant pillowcase for

2 euro pillows and sewed down the center to keep them in place. I would like to hang this on the wall behind the bed so it can come off when it needs to. Every time I try to make ties they turn out horrible so I was going to use ribbon.(I am out of the fabric anyway so it's a given on this project, unless it won't work with ribbon) I'm thinking wood knobs like that open cabinets for hangers. But I am concerned those will not stick out far enough and the whole thing will be very out of balance. It's about 52 inches wide in total.

How wide a ribbon? Also how many ties/hangers should I use? How and where should I put the ties?

Dana :)

How about putting up a cheap curtain pole and attching it to that? It is possible to get the pole holders in several differnt lengths so that you can chose how far from the wall the protrude. I should go for a 3 or 4 cm width ribbon as a minimum if it was me I would put a ribbon every 10 or 12 cms along the length if you are going to have the ribbons you maywell make a feature of them. I hope that helps you out. Claire in Montréal France.

I was recently on a cruise ship. The headboard was as suggested here. The pole was sturdy. It was attached very CLOSELY to the wall. The rather flat cushions had self fabric tabs, about

1.5" each. They were not fluffy pillows ... more of the upholstered variety. This arrangement was comfortable for read> How about putting up a cheap curtain pole and attching it to that? It is
