Oven temp variations

Sep 09, 2003 3 Replies

Is there a way to get an even temperature throughout an oven? Ours is large, and often the food at one place will be done before food at another place. Is there such a thing as a fan that will work at such temperatures?

Thanks,

D

I don't know of an after market fan. What most people do in this case is to rotate the food. Shift from upper to lower and front to back.

Hi: A convection oven has an even temp. throughout. Without such an oven, I would turn the loaves 180 deg. half way throuigh the baking.

Either Viking or Nordic Ware used to produce an after-market fan which would sit on the bottom of the oven. Don't know if it's still produced; a quick search on amazon didn't yield anything useful, but that's not definitive.

Good luck.
