AD: New Lampwork & Kiln goodies for sale... plus frit!

I was up late last night (am I ever NOT??) putting new fancies up on my website... beads, fused dichroic cabochons, and FRIT! WHEEEE! I have nine luscious colors of Bullseye frit available in two-ounce baggies, in the "Supplies" category. Bullseye frit is COE90 and 100% tested compatible with their entire hotworking line, but is packaged with kilnforming and furnace work in mind... in one- or five-pound containers, a bit much for lampworking purposes. I really like their frit, so I've been stocking up... but I neither need (nor can afford!) a full pound of each color, so I'm buying colors a few at a time and selling off what I don't need in quantities more appealing to the lampworker's palate:

If you have an extra second and don't mind doing it, I would be so grateful if you would vote for my site by clicking the buttons at the top of the home page! (And anytime you see those buttons on an artist's page, if you like their work... it helps them get a higher ranking in those search sites.) I also have auctions that I put up earlier this week, and I don't think I ever mentioned them!

Thanks for looking!

I don't know why everyone thinks frit is only available by the pound -

I've bought frit by the ounce from CR LOO before

they have a whole page of them by the ounce...

Oh, I didn't know CR Loo repackages it... I could have bought from them had I known. But... I live near the Bullseye factory, so I buy directly from them, and they don't sell it in the little packages.

I know! But maybe not, because if I can sell off my extra I can use the proceeds to finance *more*! :D

I looked at CR Loo and once you add their shipping and the extra handling charge they tack on, theirs are quite a bit more, and that's even taking into consideration that I priced mine high enough to cover my time packing it, plus baggies and labels, plus envelopes, plus shipping, *plus* a little extra for my "frit fund". I repriced mine a dollar lower than it was originally, though... it still covers expenses if I sell all of it, and I don't want to be stuck with this much frit! Even the good colors. If this works, I'll buy more colors and do it again. I like going there, it's neat to walk into their shop and be all surrounded by hundreds of colors of GLASS. They also have little 5x10 sheets in great colors for about $5 each.

Kalera those are wonderful colors BUT -- I note you say you can't use them with Effrete... and I don't make Bullseye glass beads.

pout -- that is why I like the other kinds of frit - they ARE compatible (when used within reason...)

The gold purple is FABULOUS and I love it! I also love the aventurine green for the sparkle, it's really really nice in the base of florals, sort of like sparkly foliage, and so much cheaper than goldstone. The striking pink is lighter and a little peachy-pinkier than the cranberry, and makes great sugared beads with just a hint of pink. I love the steel blue because it self-reduces in the kiln, but not so much that you can't see the blue... it's really pretty, kind of pearly. The orange I love because it's ORANGE! It's the orangiest orange I've ever used!

I haven't really played around as much with the others. The deep royal purple is kind of grape-y, and the aquamarine looks like it has promise. The other blue... I don't remember the name of it... looks like a nice denim-y color, which is why I got it. I think it would look sharp with black. I kind of wish now I'd gotten some yellow, and I think I missed the coral somehow... I specifically wanted the new striking coral, and forgot all about it when I was there! Duh. I'll have to go back and get it.

Today I'm all excited because my silver leaf came! I've been using this horrible cheap thin stuff that I got as someone's leftovers from a bulk buy, and it's almost unworkable... it shivers up into itself if you so much as exhale through your nose in its direction. I ordered some of the heavy Italian leaf... the Manetti... not as heavy as foil but a really nice heavy leaf you can manipulate. It's such a relief! I'll put some of that up when I get a chance. (If Ophelia deigns to sleep.)

The reduction frit is nice, yes, and I am addicted to the stuff... I have an insane amount, and I'll have an insaner amount when my order from the bulk buy gets here! :)

It is a bummer about the Bullseye frits not being Moretti-compatible, beause the colors are really wow, and it's CHEAP. It almost makes up for Bullseye costing twice what Moretti does! Bullseye has it nailed for crayon-colors, though. They have the pinks and purples that are to die for, and they don't pull any funny business in the flame. I *like* the funny business, though, which is why most of my beads are made with Moretti. I just go back to the Bullseye when I need some hardcore color!
