AD: Portland Bead Bazaar...come see me and Kalera this weekend

Hey ya'll,

I've been crazy busy trying to prepare for my first show in years this weekend. It's the Portland Bead Society's annual bead bazaar. Kalera and I will be sharing a table with another woman from our local beadmakers group. We're all pretty excited, but I'm feeling like I'll never get everything done for tomorrow by the time I go to bed tonight, ugh...story of my life LOL!

I don't know about the other gals, but I'll have loose lampwork focals (of course), some finished jewelry, and PMC fine silver charms and interchangeable bead pendants. Oh and hopefully a PMC charm bracelet or two (if I can get them finished tonight, that is...hee hee).

Anyway, here's the info if any of you fellow Portlanders want to come by and say hi to us...I think that we will be listed under our business names, SPIglass Studio and Beadwife, but it also may be under our group's name ORBS (Oregon Regional Beadmakers Society)

PBS Bead Bazaar

2701 NW Vaughn Portland, OR

$3 admission

Sat. Nov. 5th 10am-5pm Sun. Nov. 6th 11am-4pm

I wish I could! I am stuck here in Southern CA :(. I'd love to see the beads in person.

If I was ANYWHERE near Portland, I'd be there! I'm in rainy Milwaukee. Blah!

Paulette and Kalera, Hope you did well at your show yesterday and will sell well again today. NJ is a little far to travel for a show, but if I were lucky enough to live in the Pacific Northwest, I'd be there! Patti

How did it go?? I wish I would have had time to come by, but with all the family stuff we had this weekend, we just could not fit it in. I hope the show went well!!

I wish you all could have made it too! I heard from some of my customers that this was the best bead bazaar we've had yet with so much fabulous work to choose from!

We got stuck in the side room on the second floor, which not all the attendees knew about even though there were signs and they were trying to tell them at the admission tables. Out of those that did make it in, most had already spent their allotted budget for the day and then some...considering all that, I did quite well I think, as did Kalera. We had right about the same amount in sales...the others at our co-op tables didn't fare as well.

I had lots of comments on my beads and my PMC stuff and gave out tons of business cards (my new ones that have a blow up of the royal blue "Space Paisley" bead in my latest Bead & Button ad). Sold out of all of my handmade interchangeable bead pendants which made their premiere at the show....if I'd had more I could have sold them all. Thankfully, I had saved one to wear for myself so I could show everyone and lots of people want one and will be checking the website. So now I have to wait on my supplies to arrive before I can make more and crank 'em out as fast as I can! LOL!

To sum it up...all in all it was pretty good experience, even with having one of my interchangeable bead pendants stolen, but that won't stop me from doing more shows....so I'm looking into what shows I can do in 2006 where I won't have to go too far away from home. Any suggestions? I've also decided to start opening up my home and doing some trunk shows and showings by appointment for local people that would rather shop in person.

Here's a few pics...only got one of the full table and a couple closeups of my side...it was the end of the show and I was trying to snap a few quick pics so I could get my stuff packed up and get my tired butt home. LOL!

I would love to see your interchangeable bead pendants too!

I couldn't see anything on your site. When you get a picture up I would love to have a link posted.

Thanks.
